My life in bullet points

So, for the 5 of you who still stop by here to see what kind of mediocre crap I've posted lately, I'm back up and running. Sorry for the interruption.

Not much to report here lately. I'll give you the high lites in bullet points.
  • I'm a year older, and none the wiser.
  • BP and I finally went to our first Pride Parade a few weeks ago. I posted my thoughts about that at BlogHer.
  • My garden is feeling neglected, and is very weedy. But, the poppy I planted 4 years ago finally bloomed this year.
  • I'll be missing my 20th High School reunion this weekend to go to my grandma's birthday celebration instead. I can't believe it's been 20 years since I graduated from HS. Holy crap! Where did the time go?
  • Though I'm not going to the reunion, I am going to be meeting up with an old friend I went to HS with, who was my college roommate for two years. We had, I guess, a falling out of sorts, and had lost touch with one another. We recently reconnected through FB. It will be fun to catch up, we've both lived a whole nother life since we've seen each other last.
  • HD TV is awesome, but I miss the functionality of our TiVo. The DVR we have now just doesn't work the same way, and I miss TiVo.
  • I am addicted to Mafia Wars on FB. Who ever designed that game must have studied gaming theory. It's like playing slot machines. Or crack. Either way, an intervention might be in order.
  • Though not evident from this post, I think I'm finally past my writers block, or struggle or what ever it was that was causing my inability to put words to the screen.
  • I was excited to see that G4 is playing Arrested Development reruns. It's one of the best shows you may have never seen. Seriously, if you never watched it, you need to check it out.
  • I haven't struck out in the last two games. [knock on wood]
So there it is, the last few weeks of my life in bullet points. It's strange to see it broken down like that.

Happy belated birthday! I would send you some health points for Mafia Wars but FB is the devil.

No idea what Mafia Wars is, but it's the first time I've been tempted to check out FB.

Still, I'm resisting.

Hope you had a great B-day. This year is my 20th reunion too. I am opting out of the planned events and doing my own meet and greet with a few friends too. 20 years (head shake). How did that happen.

Every year that we go to the parade, I cry (and wave) at the PFLAGgers... Who knows why.

Love Arrested Development. Love it.

Mafia wars? I must check it out.

Arrested Development was the best show ever. Bob Loblaw was a personal favorite.

zuhn- thanks! And I agree, FB is the devil. As is twitter.

syd- keep resisting. I buckled to the persuasions of Betty Please. I'm still resisting twitter.

jen- I did have a great B-day. We went to Pride and then roller derby. And I have no idea how the years flew by.
I'm finding PFLAG causes many to cry.
Do check out Mafia Wars. I play Vampire Wars too, cause I'm a dork.

limpy- Bob Loblaw is hilarious. That show was absolutely brilliant. I love the one where Tobias was talking about being an Analyst and a therapist, making him the first analrapist.

vered- thank you!

Hi Zoe- glad you're back. The 20th reunion was great! Maybe you could drop in AFTR your Gma's bday?!

Loved your submission on the parade in BlogHer. Here's a hint!:
Go stroll down the midway while the parade is going on, & it isn't as crazy! The parades are like at least 4 hrs long so you can ALWAYS go back to them. The Dykes On Bikes are usually first leading the parade (love em!) & so you can see some of them on the midway since they finish the route first. I find the people watching the parade too crowded myself. I used to take a step ladder & lean it against my building & sit on the top so I could see above them all. (I lived on Christopher st!)

I love TIVO and that is probably the biggest reason we don't have HDTV yet...I can't stand the thought of switching to a cable or satellite company DVR.

I won't lie, I was hoping there would be an update on baby plans.

I gave in to facebook about a month ago and I actually like it, it's easy to keep up with everyone. I didn't use my maiden name though because I have no desire to reconnect with anyone from the past.

Please tell Sylvia and Phollower hello, I miss them!

See, we'll take bullet points over nothing any day. I'm glad you had a great birthday, too.

I can report on my 20th reunion next month so you can live vicariously (if you so choose).

Glad for the updates.

Kmae- Our parade, in Indy, was not that long. Maybe a half hour or so. It could have been longer, but it wasn't longer than an hour. We stood at the end of the route, because it was less crowed there. And it was in the shade. Oh, and Dykes on Bikes did lead the parade, I just didn't write my memories in order of appearance. They are an impressive way to kick off the parade.
I think next time we'll do the parade, then we'll go get breakfast/lunch, then we'll go to the festival. My thought is, by the time we get back from breakfast/lunch the craziness will have moved to the beer tents and the main stage.

tysgirl- the thing I don't like about the new DVR is that you can't flip between tuners. Meaning, if I leave one channel and go to another, it doesn't keep recording the channel I just left. So essentially, you can no longer watch 2 shows at the same time. You can watch one and record the other. It sucks.
Sorry, no baby update. We're still on hold, while I look for a job.
I wish I could have not used my maiden name, but since my name is still my maiden name (at least for now) I really didn't have a choice.
I will tell Phollower and Syvia you say hi. Phollower played a full show of original music at a local coffee shop. It's on youtube if you want to check it out, search for Phollower1.

StevenLink- even though you'll take bullet points over nothing, I will try to get back to the high mediocre standards of posting to which we've all grown accustom.
So, you're going to your 20th? I just didn't dig HS so much. Now if there were a 20th college reunion, I'd be all over that.

I had to delete Mafia Wars. I was spending way too much time on it.

Happy Belated!

One of my friends is hooked on Mafia Wars, I don't get it. I seem to compete with my step-sis-in-law on trivia games.

Oh, and I'm on my 25th. Somehow I ended up on the freakin' planning committe, and I was never friends with most of the ones who are planning it. It's a very odd feeling!
