So how psyched was I to find out Ilene Chaiken is going to be one of the keynote speakers at the BlogHer Conference this year. Oh yeah. I immediately emailed BP to let her know just how jealous she was going to be when she found out what she was going to be missing out on. She could have gone to the conference too, but oh no, she just wanted to come with and hang out in Chicago while I go to the conference. She is kicking herself now.
After the initial excitement of the news started to wear off, a new thought entered my mind; my last two L Word posts at BlogHer were a little less than kind to Ms Chaiken. Surely she wouldn't have read them. Right?
Are any of you going to BlogHer this year. I'm really nervous about going because, believe it or not, I am pretty shy. Especially when I don't have BP to lean on.
I am so glad I'll finally get to meet you. Hope you can keep Friday night open...planning a party to get the queer girls together after the BlogHer cocktail party. I'll let you know more soon.
I sent out plenty of Ilene Chaiken emails too! I am so thrilled. What an awesome keynote choice. I am not shy, so please sit by me during that session and call the Sheraton security to restrain me if I show signs of trying to storm the stage to give her roses, a screenplay draft and a Sharpie to sign my body with names of all the L Word girls. It could happen. I'll try to be cool, but it could happen.
LOL I talked about that to Lisa a long time ago, it's fine even if she did read them. (Which I hope she did because your posts were right on!)

I went last year when it was close to home, in San Francisco. I'm not going this year. Spending on a flight, a hotel and a conference doesn't make much sense when I'm still working to build a business.

deb- I'm looking forward to meeting you too, and I'll take you up on the offer to sit by you. I'm not sure I'll be any help in the calling security department, it would be all to amusing to watch you rush Ilene.
denise- I'm only critical because I love the show she created and brought to life. Even if she did read those posts, there is so much trash talk out there that's been written about the final seasons of the show, that I'm sure my posts are nothing by comparison.
vered- I hear you. If BlogHer weren't just a two hour drive from my house, I wouldn't be going either. Though actually, my shyness almost kept me away this year too.
KMae- hiding behind a camera is a good idea, since I don't think I'll be able to drink away my anxiety.
It's not something that perks my interest. The last time I looked at the schedule, last year perhaps, I couldn't help but notice the distinct lack of sessions towards lesbian bloggers. That was enough to lose my interest.
SO BITTER. Last year - no damn lesbians. This year - LOUSY WITH LESBIANS! Clearly last year was the wrong year to go! Hope you have a fabulous time - can't wait to read about it!
